“The Gazette has always been unashamedly and proudly local and I intend to keep it that way”, Mr Hanson said. “I am excited by the opportunity to edit this iconic newspaper, at a time when the Valley and Highlands is really moving ahead.”
The new appointment comes as The Mercury has entered into an agreement with Tasmanian company Font PR to help ensure the long-term sustainability of the weekly newspaper. Due to subsequent administrative changes, the next edition of The Gazette will now be published on Wednesday, 13th February.
